INSPIRATION: For the first show, the Agathe Ruiz de la Prada presentation, the models had to wear something that was easy to break down for the following shows. The inspiration was if “the model was coming fresh out of the shower with a silky shine.” Agatha’s characteristic “Heart Crown” was included on top as an added touch. For the presentations to follow, the Edwin’s D Angelo, Franzisko Saez, Diego Dominguez, Eduardo Cerda and Benito Santos presentations, the look was an effortless ponytail that portrayed the “back from the beach” rough texture look.
STEP 1: I started Gemma with dry hair and began to brush her strands out with the Olivia Garden iDetangle Brush to get rid of any unwanted knots. I then sprayed a generous amount of the volume Spray all around Gemma’s crown and face to create texture. Next, I started to blowout Gemma’s hair using the Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion Hair Dryer. As I was blow drying, I used the Olivia Garden EcoHair Brush to continue to create volume around Gemma’s face. Since we wanted to make sure there was enough texture throughout Gemma’s hair, I sprayed the Dry Shampoo to even out softness and volume.
STEP 2: Once Gemma’s hair was fully blown out and had enough volume, I use a ¾ inch barrel curling iron and slowly wrapped pieces of hair around it while letting them down gently with my hands to create messy waves. I then applied a small amount of the Dry Shampoo Texturizing Paste into the palms of my hands and began to add it to the crown and back part of Gemma’s hair to reduce any frizz. I used the Olivia Garden Style-Up Folding Teasing Brush to ensure the product was evenly distributed. Once Gemma’s waves were complete, I gathered her hair into a low ponytail and secured it with a thin elastic right at the back of her neck. Once the ponytail was secured, I started to twist a few pieces of the pony tail creating a lose knot right above the nape of neck. Since we wanted this look to feel effortless, I made sure to leave a few stray pieces that would fall naturally. To finish off the look, I sprayed the Hairspray all over to ensure hold throughout the night.
STEP-BY-STEP FOR AGATHE RUIZ DE LA PRADA:
STEP 1: Start by distributing styling product on the roots.
STEP 2: Use the iDetangle Brush while blowdrying hair. Blowdry the top section of hair towards the forehead.
STEP 3: Then using the CarboSilk Comb for easy sectioning, create a 2-inch cornrow right on the lower back part of the head with the remaining pieces of hair to create volume.
STEP 4: Apply hairspray & smooth out ends of hair with the FingerBrush
STEP 5: Pull the rest of hair back from the forehead full & use the cornrow as thread to protect the bottom half from falling out.
STEP 6: Add headband to hair slowly & apply hairspray to ensure hold.
STEP-BY-STEP POST AGATHE RUIZ DE LA PRADA:
STEP 1: Remove headband. Bundle hair & tie altogether with an elastic.
STEP 2: To keep elastic band from showing, wrap it with a few pieces of hairCarboSilk Comb & secure with bobby pin.
STEP 3: Spray styling product to create a more roughened up finish.
STEP 4: Smooth only the pony tail out using the Detangle & Style ON THE GO Folding Brush.
STEP 5: Apply the hairspray all over hair to add shine & tame any flyaway.
